Pousada, hotel & resort photography
Pousada and hotel photography in Brazil is a full day on a property photographing its suites, pool, breakfast, restaurant and grounds for its website, booking engines and Instagram, priced from $1,200 for 8 hours and 80 edited photographs delivered within 2 weeks. It is booked by pousadas in Trancoso, Jericoacoara and Fernando de Noronha, boutique hotels in Búzios and Paraty, and mountain hotels in Gramado, and it is quoted rather than fixed, because the number of suite types, outlets and leisure areas decides how many days a property needs.

About this session
A day at the pousada, planned around the guests
- $1,200
- 8 hours
- 80
- 20
The guests come first and the schedule bends around them. Suites are photographed as they are vacated and held off sale, the pool at first light before loungers fill, the breakfast table before service opens, the lounge in the quiet hour after check-out. A recognisable guest is either kept out of frame or asked to sign an image-use release, and the owner decides in advance which areas the photographer may enter and when. One named staff contact and a walk-through the afternoon before keep the eight hours for photographs rather than for finding keys.
A pousada sells a feeling as much as a room, so some scenes need people: a couple on the deck at dusk, someone reading in a hammock, a table being laid with tapioca and fruit. Those people are staff or hired models, and because article 20 of the Código Civil lets anyone stop the commercial use of an unauthorised image, every one of them signs a release before the pictures reach the website, booking engines or paid ads. The shot list is agreed with the owner or marketing team and tied to where each image will run, so the 80 photographs fill the pages that need them.
Seasons shape the date. Gramado’s hotels are sold on their winter fireplaces and the Northeast coast on blue sky, so book while the property looks the way its guests will find it, and ask the pousada which weeks it can block suites. For one house or apartment, vacation rental photography is the smaller service; for a wedding or incentive group at the hotel, the wedding and corporate event services photograph the people rather than the property, and aerial views are booked as a separate drone service.
Questions about pousada, hotel & resort photography
How does pousada and hotel photography keep guests out of the pictures?
Pousada and hotel photography is timed so guests never become content: suites photographed as they are vacated and held, the pool at first light, the breakfast spread before service opens. A guest who could be recognised is left out or signs an image-use release, and the owner decides in advance which areas the photographer may enter and when.
Do pousadas in Trancoso or Jericoacoara need models for their photos?
A pousada in Trancoso or Jericoacoara sells an experience, so a few scenes read better with people in them: a couple on the deck at sunset, someone in a hammock, a breakfast table being laid. Staff or hired models fill those roles, and each signs an image-use release before the pictures reach the website, booking engines or paid ads.
Why is pousada and hotel photography quoted rather than fixed?
Pousada and hotel photography starts at an 8-hour day with 80 edited photographs, and the quote then moves with the number of suite types, restaurants and leisure areas, whether models are needed, and whether a resort in Búzios or Gramado needs a second day to catch each space at its right hour. The scope is written down before the date is confirmed.
What should a pousada prepare before its photography day?
Before pousada or hotel photography, name one staff contact for the whole day, block the suites on the shot list, set loungers, towels and hammocks, have the kitchen plate breakfast and signature dishes on cue, and switch off televisions and music in frame. A walk-through the afternoon before keeps the 8 hours for actual photographs.
